LELAND, NC (WWAY) — It’s no surprise that Valentine’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year for florists.
Sweet Nectar’s Florist in Leland had a particularly good day, selling out all red roses before 1 p.m.
Owner Steven Kennedy is thankful for the support that his store has received from customers from as close by as Leland and Wilmington, and as far away as Bolivia.
“Definitely this year I’ve seen a tremendous turnout with the local people and that really means a lot for us with Florence affecting everyone in this area I know it’s difficult for some of the small businesses to bounce back,” said Kennedy.
Kennedy explained that the only holiday that brings his staff and him more customers than February 14 is Mother’s Day.
